About the Opportunity:
I’m hiring on behalf of a well-established underground utility contractor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. They specialize in large-scale public infrastructure projects – primarily water and sewer installation – and are looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project management and field operations teams throughout all phases of construction

  • Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and cost tracking

  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, and public agencies

  • Help manage daily reporting, quality control, and safety documentation

  • Interpret plans and specifications for utility installation (water/sewer)

  • Attend site meetings and support foremen and superintendents with field needs

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  • 1–3 years of experience in heavy civil construction (internships/co-ops count)

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Willingness to work both in the field and the office

  • Prior experience with underground utilities a plus
