I’m hiring on behalf of a well-established underground utility contractor based in the San Francisco Bay Area. They specialize in large-scale public infrastructure projects – primarily water and sewer installation – and are looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
Support project management and field operations teams throughout all phases of construction
Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and cost tracking
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, and public agencies
Help manage daily reporting, quality control, and safety documentation
Interpret plans and specifications for utility installation (water/sewer)
Attend site meetings and support foremen and superintendents with field needs
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
1–3 years of experience in heavy civil construction (internships/co-ops count)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Willingness to work both in the field and the office
Prior experience with underground utilities a plus
