About the Opportunity:
I’m hiring on behalf of a top-tier mechanical contractor delivering a $160M design-build hospital project in Moosonee, Northern Ontario. This is a major infrastructure project in a remote region with significant community impact, offering a unique and rewarding challenge for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager.
This is a Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) role on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule, with private flights provided. The employer is offering housing, per diem, relocation support, and a significant project completion bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale mechanical scope on a new hospital construction project
Manage cost, schedule, and quality across mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gases
Oversee subcontractors, procurement, site logistics, and commissioning activities
Ensure compliance with design-build contract requirements
Engage with Indigenous communities and project stakeholders respectfully and professionally
Coordinate closely with internal leadership, engineering teams, and construction partners
Utilize prefabrication and offsite construction methods where applicable
Qualifications:
10+ years in mechanical construction, with at least 5 years as a Project Manager
Experience delivering large-scale institutional or commercial projects (e.g., healthcare, higher education, oil & gas)
Proven ability to manage design-build contracts and work in remote or challenging environments
Prefabrication/offsite construction experience is an asset
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Willingness to commit to a 2-year project in a remote location
